Former Day Runner Chairman
to Lead
Future Growth of Fly-Fishing
Association
KELSO, Wash. (November
1, 2001) – The American
Fly Fishing Trade Association,
the voice of the fly-fishing
industry, today announced
the appointment of a
new president to lead
the four-year-old organization.
Mark Vidovich, former
chairman of Day Runner,
Inc., and an avid fly
angler, has been selected
to manage the future
growth of the fly-fishing
industry. Newly-elected
AFFTA president K.C.
Walsh of Simms Fishing
Products in Bozeman,
Mont., becomes chairman
of AFFTA; Jim Bartschi
of Scott Fly Rod, Montrose,
Colo., becomes vice
chairman; and Rori Coward,
based at AFFTA headquarters
in Kelso, continues
as managing director,
responsible for association
operations. “Mark Vidovich
will bring a professional,
full-time focus to the
fly- fishing industry’s
efforts to grow the
consumer market for
our sport,” said AFFTA’s
K.C. Walsh. “As the
key spokesman and advocate
for the sport of fly-fishing,
he shares AFFTA’s commitment
towards wild and healthy
fish and clean water.”
While relatively new
to the sport, Vidovich,
51, has fished throughout
the world and is an
outdoor enthusiast.
Prior to the position
at Day Runner, a leading
paper-based business
organizer, he was president
and CEO of software
distributor Softeam,
Inc. A resident of Irvine,
Calif., he and his wife
Patti have been married
for 30 years and have
two grown children.
Vidovich received a
B.S. from California
State University at
Long Beach, and attended
the Wharton Advanced
Management Program.
Vidovich brings to AFFTA
a history of successful
management and a full-time
focus to maximize the
contacts and opportunities
that have emerged in
the past few years.
